The Elric Saga

Trans headcanons of any gender welcome for Elric — how does it affect Elric’s family relationships and place in succession? Noncon is also welcome for any of the pairings involving Yyrkoon or Arioch. Any genitals are welcome for Arioch.

Ancestor!Arioch/descendant!Elric

I just think it’d be intriguing if they were, on top of everything else, related. I nominated “ancestor” in the “Arioch was a bit more hands-on in his creation of Melniboneans than in canon” sense, but I’m open to “ancestor” meaning “parent” as well, or any degrees between parent and very distant ancestor. Does Elric know? Is it common knowledge — and if it is, is it assumed to be only mythology?

(And my general thoughts on “everything else”: I love Arioch; he's so amoral and delightful. Please subject Elric to him, in whatever form that takes. I particularly like the tension over Elric's loyalty, where he is very dependent on Arioch but not enthusiastic in his loyalty, while Arioch finds him amusing to toy with. I will never be over the fact that Arioch canonically calls him "surely the sweetest of all my slaves" and Elric is constantly describing Arioch as beautiful even when he's otherwise all business. I am very into Arioch forcing Elric to admit who he belongs to or otherwise perform loyalty, particularly in a public setting or in front of Elric's allies.)

(Cymoril/)Elric/Yyrkoon [cousins]

I think Yyrkoon should be sexually obsessed with Elric as well! I’d love it either as an extension of Cymoril (“this is the cock that was in my sister”) or politics (“if I can’t have the crown I will have the emperor”). What does the triangulation between them look like?

I do quite like Elric and Cymoril together, particularly because she does have more traditionally Melnibonean morals. Does that ever conflict with Elric’s, when he puts them into practice? I’d love to see part of their courtship, or an AU where Elric left Cymoril in charge rather than Yyrkoon when he went wandering (and therefore she has institutional power backing her up and is less kidnappable).

(I also requested these pairings for nonconex, so if you’d prefer to go a less consensual direction, my thoughts are here.)

Cymoril/Elric [sibling AU]

How would this change their dynamic? Are they half-siblings? Who was born first, and if it was Cymoril, will she become Empress rather than Elric? (I'm open to Yyrkoon being either their brother or cousin in this AU.)

The Game and the Candle

Adrian Stanief/Feodor Stanief(/John Allard)

These cousins have a wonderfully deranged dynamic. Stanief and Adrian both have “the habit of domination” and the whole book is Stanief doing his damnedest to yield and be genuinely loyal to Adrian despite the personal cost, while Adrian “is a kitten for whom we are all toy mice.” Add to that John, who is textually passed between them and loves them both. I really do not think you have to do all that much to add a sexual dynamic here, either with Stanief going against his natural inclination to dominate or Allard as their shared sub. Allard is regularly summoned to Adrian's bed(side)! And meanwhile there’s also the tension with Adrian being so young and yet completely unable to trust the people around him to be genuine — post-canon, is that something they can move towards?

This book was published in 1909 and is therefore available on Project Gutenberg here. It’s a little less than 50k words.

Note that for this canon, my “on-page sex under 16” DNW is waived, so long as Adrian’s age is not explicitly given a number. (It being implied is fine, either as mentions of his youth generally or how many months/years John has been at court.)

The Inheritance Cycle

Eragon/Murtagh

There are so many flavors of relationship between these two over the course of the series, and all of them are good. Their initial roadtrip is the happiest point between them for a while, and then there are so many complicated feelings after Murtagh is captured/defects and they realize they’re related. I also adore how psyched Eragon is for Murtagh to come stay with him at the end of the book Murtagh.

I really enjoy how scared Murtagh is throughout much of the series and how mean it can make him, even as he’s still desperate for Eragon to recognize him as a brother. Likewise, I enjoy how Eragon is extremely adaptable to basically whatever the series throws at him. I’m open to any level of involvement for Saphira and Thorn short of actual sexual contact between humans and dragons; I really enjoy the psychic dragon bond and my favorite flavor of it is "platonic but extremely intense and weird to outsiders." (Background Saphira/Thorn is okay to include.)

I am also fascinated by an AU where they were both raised as Morzan's sons in Galbatorix's court (whether or not Eragon's actual parentage is any different). How does it alter their dynamic? Do either of them become Riders?

Transfem headcanons are welcome for either or both of them!

The Silmarillion

Aredhel/Celegorm(/Orome)

I love that Aredhel is a female character who is both morally compromised (kinslaying) and sympathetic (everything else). I also enjoy how Celegorm sees which way the wind is blowing (and acknowledges it) much earlier than most of the rest of his brothers, and how that leads to a more visible awfulness.

I would love to see something with them both learning with Orome, or alternatively, post-fleeing Eol. (How does Celegorm feel about Maeglin?) If you want to write hard conversations, I’d enjoy seeing them re-embodied in Valinor as well, and all the attendant messiness that brings. Do either of them seek out Orome?

Biological father!Celegorm/Biological son!Dior

Hoo boy. I’m imagining this playing out in a situation that resembles canon, except that things went further during captivity and Luthien was pregnant during the confrontations with Sauron and Morgoth. (I’m fine with this having been consensual, dubcon, or noncon.) I’d really love if Celegorm didn’t actually know until around the time of the second kinslaying (whether or not Dior did! And if Dior does know, does that alter how he negotiates with the sons of Feanor?) I like when Dior is able to hold his own, considering that he did manage to kill Celegorm canonically. Did the knowledge manage to alter things? At what point did incest enter the picture?

If the kinslaying wasn’t averted, is there an attempt at reconciliation/getting to know your bio kid/dad who you murdered (gone wrong gone sexual) in Valinor?

(Rape between Celegorm and Dior, with either as the aggressor, is welcome for this prompt. Background Celegorm/Curufin is also very welcome.)

Prompt-specific DNW: grooming (in the abuse sense), Celegorm raising Dior, any mentions of other cross-generational incestuous relationships.

Celegorm/Curufin

I'd be interested in any era for these two (Years of the Trees, early First Age, Nargothrond, post-Nargothrond pre-Doriath, post-death Valinor) and any tone that feels appropriate. I'm very interested in how they work as a pair from the beginning in a way that doesn't happen for anyone except the Ambarussa until a lot more trauma has happened; they seem conscious of what they'll do for the Oath a lot sooner than their other brothers. Is the loyalty between them ever tested?

I’d also be really intrigued by an incestuous but nonsexual kink relationship. What’s their journey towards kink discovery?

Celegorm/Curufin/Finrod

Ah, the Nargothrond Bad Idea Polycule. Are Celegorm and Curufin already together, or is Finrod the catalyst? I love political undertones and the claustrophobia of the city, as well as familial tension and grudges being (un)addressed in the worst way possible. If LACE applies here, can Finrod and Celegorm have sex with each other, or does Curufin have to act as intermediary (since he's already married)? I’m also happy with a Years of the Trees or Fourth Age Valinor setting!

Feanor/Fingolfin

I would really love this to lean into the complicated mess of family dynamics happening here, and particularly if things were left in a (largely) unresolved, unfixed place. I'm very into "sex as politics" for the Silmarillion generally, and that's particularly true here. I'm primarily interested in the Years of the Trees before they leave Valinor (either when tensions are rising or before). Certainly they both have reasons to (not) act on their desires: what happens that allows it?

Do they both have kids at this point? Is Fingolfin around the same age as Maedhros, or is he closer in age to Feanor? (I'm very happy with either or a secret third thing as an answer; Feanor's nearly an adult when Fingolfin is born, but also Maedhros and Fingon are implied to be relatively close in age.) I find it intriguing that Fingolfin is the sibling Feanor fixates on, when he isn't Finwe and Indis's firstborn. Is it because he's their first boy? Is it because of Fingolfin's personality?

Maedhros/Maglor

They're the last two of Feanor's sons standing, and I imagine that cannot have done great things for their relationship. What prompts them getting together? How does the rest of the family feel about it (if there is a 'rest of the family' at that point)?

This is a pairing I'm particularly open to "looking back and reflecting while separated by death" fics for. I would be equally happy with fluffy sex/romance (particularly during the Years of the Trees) and grim, "we’ve already done so much worse so how big of a deal is incest really?"-flavored sex/romance.

Prompt-specific DNW: Elwing bashing.

Post-Angband Maedhros/Pre-Oath Maedhros

Let these two fuck each other up!

Angband may not be the only trauma in Maedhros’s life, but it’s certainly one which deeply shaped him. How different is pre-Oath Maedhros? How does he feel about the person he’ll become? Is post-Angband Maedhros immediately post-Angband, post-second kinslaying, or post-third kinslaying? (Or post-death, even?)

I particularly like the opportunity for externalizing feelings selfcest provides, as well as being forced to reckon with the most unpleasant and vulnerable parts of yourself.

The Time Master Series

Tarod/Yandros

Link to my Candy Hearts promo post for this series and where to find the books.

This is a dynamic that drives me completely insane. The supposed villain going “we’re two sides of the same coin, you’re more like me than you think, you’ll understand eventually,” and then he’s just actually right. (Not in every aspect, admittedly! But the personal ones.) The entire time I was reading this series, I was expecting a third act betrayal from Yandros, and I am so charmed that did not happen. Yandros ultimately chooses Tarod and defers to his decision, even though he doesn’t necessarily agree with it.

I'd love to see Yandros's perspective on any of the scenes where he's talking to Tarod and isn't managing to win him over; I imagine it must be very frustrating. He’s fairly restrained about how much he misses Tarod in canon, but it’s such a disturbing and relatively long-lasting separation, compared to what they've done before. I also think there's a lot of potential for interaction in the time between books one and two, where Tarod has trapped himself in a completely empty castle that he's wrenched out of time. They literally can't get the plot moving, so what else is there to do?

I very much enjoy watching Tarod wrestle with his morality, and I would take truly so many words of it. If Yandros ever does decide to try seduction (whether or not he’s told Tarod that they’re siblings), how does Tarod take it? I would love to see him muddling through confused feelings, particularly if dream sex or shapeshifting is involved.

Post- (or pre-)canon with them both as gods is welcome as well. What are they like when there’s no misunderstandings? (If you’re interested in writing smut, I think they have had the absolute weirdest sex, at least half of which is completely unintelligible to the human brain as such. Any genitals are welcome for either of them as gods.)

I love outside POV and this is a canon I think it works very well for, as humans either don’t remember or understand much about Yandros and Tarod (either as people or as gods). I think we should toss (confirmed? rumored?) incest/displays of affection into the mix and see what happens.

Finally, I think this is a setting that would be really interesting to have externalized souls in (whether through daemons or soulmarks or something else), considering that Tarod's soul is already in his ring. Would he have an additional one as a human? If not, how does that affect his immersion into the Order, when there's something much more concrete to point to as 'something is wrong with this guy' aside from being vaguely unsettling and weirdly powerful?

I have read both the prequel and sequel trilogies as well, so feel free to pull in canon from there if it's helpful and don’t worry about it if it isn’t. (I particularly enjoyed Yandros and Tarod attending human parties incognito together at the beginning of Star Ascendant.)
