Yuletide 2025
Oct. 24th, 2025 01:12 pmHello, and thank you for considering writing something for me! Treats are welcome, as are fics of any rating. I'm aguntoaknifefight (swirlingvoid) on ao3. Fandoms and characters are organized alphabetically. Length does not correlate to excitement level.
DNW: Christmas or fictional equivalents, setting change AUs*, on-page sex with a character under 16 (or species equivalent; discussions of solo or paired sexual exploration prior to this age are fine)
*defined here as changing the location and/or time period of canon; pre-canon, future fic, or adding tropes to the setting are all fine!
Stylistically, I particularly enjoy:
General themes I particularly like:
The Elric Saga
Requested characters: Arioch, Cymoril, Elric (only one must be featured)
Any recurring characters are also welcome, particularly Yyrkoon, Moonglum, and Rackhir. (Yyrkoon is welcome as an addition to any pairing in a shipfic.) Notes on shipping: I do ship Arioch/Elric and Cymoril/Elric, and I am very ready to be sold on Arioch/Cymoril (or Arioch/Cymoril/Elric). Gen is also very welcome! I'd love a canon-style adventure in Elric's miserable life.
What I love about these characters individually:
Arioch is such an excellent force of temptation and corruption. I adore the level of intimacy he has with Elric (much to Elric's dismay). Arioch calls Elric "the sweetest of [his] slaves" and that is a) wildly homoerotic and b) such a good evocation of how much power he has over Elric's life. He's able to give Elric a level of freedom from what seems to be an expensive and unpredictable medication regimen, but he only does that by replacing it with reliance on something much, much worse. I'd love to see his perspective on things, or him being a deeply weird being off-screen. I adore how bad he is at manipulation when it really counts (in Stormbringer, for example, Elric counters his arguments in the mildest way and Arioch cannot handle it) and I think there is a real potential for comedy here.
Cymoril is such a fascinating character to me in Elric of Melnibone. She’s in the damsel/faithful lover role, but at the same time she’s fundamentally a Melnibonean with orange-and-blue-morality. I would love to see a universe where she survives. Where are the points where friction finally emerges? I’d also love to see an AU where she ends up wielding Stormbringer instead of Elric.
Elric, on the other hand, is such a sad wet cat of a man.* In Elric of Melnibone, he's making a real solid attempt at having morals — even as he does reflect that he picks practicality when it comes to putting things in practice (until he makes the deeply insane choice of sparing Yyrkoon!) — which is then slowly devoured by Stormbringer over the course of the series. I would love you to put him in a jar and shake him real hard. I am also very interested in Elric as a disabled character.**
* I am open to genderbends (cis or trans) for all Elric saga characters, but particularly for Elric — what changes or what doesn’t when Elric is a trans man/trans woman/cis woman? Can women inherit?
** (Prefacing this with: I know these are pulp novels and realism cannot be expected from them. However.) So Elric only canonically has albinism, but nothing besides his skin/hair/eye color actually matches up with that. He should have at least some level of visual impairment — I don’t mind handwaving this as being temporarily fixed with Stormbringer/drugs/etc. but would love if it wasn’t permanently improved. But like, what else does he have going on? What condition is he actually managing with Stormbringer/drugs/etc.?
Fever House Duology
Requested character: Saint Michael (must be featured)
Saint Michael is one of the most fascinating characters to me in this book full of wild and fascinating characters. He’s an angel! He can’t process time! He’s dying! I’d love to know more about what he was used for pre-canon and what life is like from his perspective. (I would prefer gen for this request.)
The Time Master
Link to my promo post and where to find canon!
Requested characters: Cyllan, Tarod, Yandros (only one must be featured)
Notes on shipping: Tarod/Yandros is very welcome. I don't want to include exclusively shippy thoughts here, but I have requested them in a fair number of exchanges, and other letters can be found in this same journal or on the autoao3 app. I'd prefer if Cyllan/Tarod wasn't the focus of the fic, but keeping their canonical relationship is fine. Cyllan/Tarod/Yandros, either as a triad or a poly-v with Tarod as the hinge, is also welcome, as is gen.
I love all of these characters! (I also really like Keridil, so feel free to feature him as well if so desired.) For Tarod, I'm most drawn to how he is so similar with and without his memories, but in a way that really makes it clear how much perspective matters. I love his struggles with morality and how he is changed by the comparatively very short two decades and change he lives as a human in a way that translates into his godly self as well.
This is something I'd like to see Cyllan's perspective on as well; I'd really love something post-canon from her. How does death and/or apotheosis change her? How is it hard? How is it easy? Does her relationship with Tarod change at all? What about her relationship to Yandros? (I absolutely love their dynamic in the later books, where they are simultaneously two people who care about Tarod working together sort of behind his back and a worshiper and her capricious god. I'd love to see the timeline get stretched out a little bit longer and see how that develops while Tarod and Cyllan are still humans.)
For Yandros, I'm really interested in his perspective on the events of the series (or pre/post-canon when Tarod is interacting with humanity). He clearly feels real and deep affection for Tarod, even if Tarod is completely unable to comprehend or process that when he's human. (One of my absolute favorite moments in the series is when Tarod re-ascends to godhood, because Yandros has been pushing the "you'll understand and agree with me when you're back to normal" thing so hard and the reader is wondering to what extent Yandros might be lying — and then it's just true. He loves Yandros immediately, and while Tarod's perspective on what to do about Aeoris has genuinely been changed by living as a human, Yandros has been telling the truth this whole time.) Is there ever a point where Yandros feels like they might have made the wrong decision in sending Tarod? Is there ever a moment where Tarod can't save himself (and Cyllan isn't in a position to)? I'd also love to see Yandros's thoughts on watching Tarod grow up — he's clearly paying attention since he saves him from execution (and then gives him his name back!) early on. How weird is it to see your ageless immortal same-age sibling as an even more defenseless and squishy human than the ones you're used to interacting with?
Finally, with any of the characters, I'd love to see the effects of Equilibrium and how the general populace's religious practices do or don't change over the centuries. (Outsider POV very welcome!)
